Members of LOES
Together with similar communities, eco-communities contribute to a positive restructuring of society, so that we can live more easily on earth. Some have been going on for a long time, others have just started. LOES is the network that links these eco-communities together, collects experiences and works to influence, for example, politicians, civil servants and financial institutions.

Tranehøj
DESCRIPTION
Kollektivet Tranehøj – more than a housing community, Living in a committed collective is more of a lifestyle than a way of living. Or perhaps it is more a personal and political choice based on an attitude towards how we as humans can adapt to take care of each other and our common planet. Therefore, living at Tranehøj is a constant process of development. Nothing is ever finished, and we can always become better and smarter.
For example, we strive to become better at sustainability and have electricity and heat from our own solar cells and windmill. Fairtrade and organic farming are a natural part of everyday life, and on our land we produce part of what we eat – both fruit and vegetables, sheep and chickens.
Tranehøj is also an old and beautiful four-lane farm with a hollyhock idyll and plenty of space inside and out. We are involved in local and global associations and occasionally receive visits from artists from countries in Africa and Latin America, especially.

Det betyder i praksis at håndtere spildevand og regnvand lokalt i stedet for at aflede vandet via større, længere og dermed dyrere kloakrør til et centralt renseanlæg.
