LIVE AND LEARN IN ECO-COMMUNITY
During the Live and Learn weekends, you live together in an eco-community, where you immerse yourself in a dimension of the sustainability wheel that most eco-communities are oriented towards. You will get a tour, hear about, feel and for a while take part in the specific eco-community’s doings and goings, while exploring elements of the chosen dimension.
If you join all four weekends, you will thus get a good and broad insight into what characterizes an eco-community as well as a personal experience with 4 different eco-communities. You can also choose to just participate in the dimension that catches your attention – or in the eco-community that you think is particularly interesting to visit. We look forward to presenting life in four Danish eco-communities and inviting you into our common life.
Read about the Live and Learn in Eco-communities courses below, and find information on how to register.

course: THE CULTURAL DIMENSION in Hertha Living Community
June 14-16, 2024 in Levefællesskabet Hertha
Based on Hertha Living Community, we look at what it means to work with a worldview in the lived life in an eco-community. We will participate in village life, biodynamic gardening and the work with inclusion, while examining the thoughts behind it. We will also invite teachers from other eco-communities, and look at their worldview and review theories and thoughts that can be used to form a framework for the cultural work in an eco-community.
The weekend starts from approx. 5 pm on Friday and ends approx. 2 pm on Sunday. More information about this follows.
Accommodation in a tent brought along.

THE ECONOMIC DIMENSION
February 9-11, 2024 at Avnø Højskole in the emerging eco-society Avnø Oasis.
With a mix of play and theory, we create a deeper understanding of economic dynamics and how we can create a sustainable economy, both on a societal and personal level. You will discover how economic frameworks interact with social dynamics. In addition, the course will give you tools to create better personal financial frameworks for yourself and your family.
As the course is also the introduction to the economic dimension of the 12-week Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) course, Health, Happiness og Green lifestyle, which Avnø College holds in collaboration with LØS and Gaia Education with international students, the course is held in English (Danish translation if necessary).
The weekend starts from approx. 5 pm on Friday and ends approx. 2 pm on Sunday. More information about this will follow.
Accommodation in a double room. It is possible to stay in a single room for an additional amount of DKK 200 per night.

THE SOCIAL DIMENSION
April 26-28, 2024 in the eco-community Hallingelille (the course was cancelled)
Here we delve into the social dynamics that play out among people who live together. How do we accommodate diversity? The balance between the individual and the common? How does communication take place – and what happens when conflicts arise? Is it important to have a vision? The course is held on the same weekend as a working day in Hallingelille, so Sunday ends with a joint lunch with the entire eco-community.
The weekend starts at 4/5 pm on Friday and ends at 1 pm on Sunday. Find the full program here.

Courses with LOES
LOES holds weekend courses and other shorter courses that can improve the skills of both people from eco-communities and other interested parties. Here you can delve into a specific topic while visiting an eco-community and get a taste of the community that has been created there. In this way, bridges are built between eco-communities and different target groups. We are happy to advertise when our members hold courses.
Would you like to HOLD A COURSE?
If you, as a teacher in an eco-community, want to hold a course, you can do so through LOES.
For example, if you want to host a weekend in the ‘Live and Learn in Eco-community’ course series, a set of guidelines has been prepared that can be downloaded here.
